Partnership with SDVOSB Marathon Medical Corp. expands access to better care with ivWatch products in the Federal sector

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — February 12, 2024ivWatch, LLC, the IV safety company, today announced it has received clearance to sell into Federal Government Hospital Systems through its partnership withMarathon Medical Corp., a medical supply distribution company and service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB).

Beginning immediately, ivWatch is available through the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS), which awards multiple contracts for state-of-the-art healthcare products such as ivWatch’s patient monitoring technology. ivWatch solutions continuously monitor IV sites and helps protect patients from unpredictable IV complications with early IV infiltration and extravasation detection. This development is bridging the gap between the critical need for IV monitoring technology and some of the most vulnerable and deserving populations who are at high risk for injury to help prevent the need for additional medical interventions.

The addition of ivWatch to the FSS gives direct access to the Veterans Healthcare Administration, Indian Health Service, among other government healthcare facilities.  The Veterans Health Administration alone is comprised of 1,255 healthcare facilities serving over nine million enrolled patients each year, notably the largest integrated healthcare network in the United States.

“The VA is at the forefront of bringing healthcare innovation into its hospitals, improving patient satisfaction which leads to an increased likelihood that a patient will return to the same facility for ongoing care. Adding our patented technology as a solution in VA hospitals will help further this continued emphasis on unparalleled care for our nation’s veterans,” notes Gary Warren, ivWatch president and CEO.

Warren added: “This milestone of being added to the FSS with our partners, Marathon Medical, opens new doors for us to serve those who have served our country proudly.  With access to excellent care, innovative technology that can help keep them safer, and an essential focus on addressing healthcare disparities – including the aging population – VA patients have new opportunities for a better hospital experience.”

With over 30 clinical studies, 69 patents, and more than 20 years of research and development completed, ivWatch products use a predictive algorithm combined with multi-spectral light to identify extravasations at the earliest onset of fluid leaking outside the vein. Every extravasation is a medication dosing error and can lead to severe outcomes such as nerve damage, scarring, skin necrosis, skin staining, and even amputation in the most severe instances.

This expansion of ivWatch’s availability is possible under the terms of its multi-year agreement with Marathon Medical, which distributes the ivWatch patient monitoring system to government healthcare facilities in the United States. Marathon Medical is committed to the patient first and foremost, and remembers, honors, and gives back to its community. Together, ivWatch and Marathon Medical will partner to provide clinical vascular access education services, and product evaluations for facilities to understand how the technology seamlessly integrates into their workflow, and technology purchases are now available.
